Hiring: Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor

The Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor role in Yardstick is responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient logistics coordination, and safe, organized storage of goods. This role manages inbound and outbound deliveries, optimizes warehouse space and workflows, supervises warehouse staff, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Using ERP systems such as Odoo, the supervisor tracks inventory movements, monitors KPIs, controls costs, and drives continuous improvement while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to support business operations.

Responsibilities:


    Inventory Control & Accuracy

    • Oversee and maintain accurate inventory counts through regular cycle counts and periodic physical stock takes.
    • Track stock placement and movement within the warehouse, ensuring all items are properly labeled and stored.
    • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly (e.g., missing items, damaged goods).
    • Receipt & Delivery Management
    • Monitor and record delivery receipts, verifying accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
    • Ensure all deliveries and returns are documented correctly in Odoo or equivalent record-keeping systems.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers to resolve shipping issues and ensure on-time deliveries.
    • Warehouse Organization & Space Utilization
    • Optimize the warehouse layout to make best use of space and streamline workflows.
    • Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of goods, adhering to safety regulations.
    • Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment, following standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    Logistics Coordination

    • Coordinate both wholesale and internal logistics, aligning with operational demands and timelines.
    • Track shipments from suppliers to warehouse and from warehouse to customers, ensuring accurate, on-time deliveries.
    • Organize and oversee returns, including inspections, documentation, restocking, or disposal as necessary.

    Team Leadership & Development

    • Supervise warehouse staff, including work allocation, training, and performance management.
    • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes accountability, continuous improvement, and safety.
    • Collaborate with HR to support recruitment and onboarding, ensuring new hires are adequately trained.

    System & Process Implementation

    • Use Odoo (or similar ERP modules) to record inventory movements, manage orders, and maintain overall warehouse data.
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), such as delivery accuracy, order fulfillment times, and inventory turnover rates.
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

    Regulatory Compliance & Safety

    • Ensure operations comply with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Promote a safety-first culture by conducting regular inspections, training sessions, and hazard assessments.
    • Document and investigate any safety incidents, implementing corrective actions and preventative measures.

    Budget & Cost Management

    • Assist in developing and managing warehouse and logistics budgets.
    • Monitor operational expenses (e.g., labor, supplies, shipping) and identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Evaluate service providers and negotiate rates to ensure cost-effective, high-quality logistics support.

    Collaboration & Communication

    • Liaise with cross-functional teams (Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service) to align stock levels with demand forecasts.
    • Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders regarding order status, potential delays, or issues.
    • Prepare regular reports on warehouse performance, suggesting strategic improvements to senior management.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • 3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management, including supervisory experience.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems (Odoo or similar) and inventory management tools.
    • Strong understanding of warehouse safety standards, regulatory compliance, and SOPs.
    • Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience in training and performance management.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal teams and external service providers.
