Hiring: Food Cost Analyst/Internal Auditor
Job Summary:
The Food Cost Analyst/Internal Auditor role in Yardstick ensures cost efficiency and compliance by monitoring food and beverage costs, analyzing variances, and controlling inventory. The role conducts regular audits to identify risks, improve internal controls, and support accurate reporting, while providing insights to optimize menu profitability, reduce waste, and strengthen operational compliance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Food Cost Analysis:

Monitor and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly food and beverage costs.

Conduct variance analysis between actual vs. standard cost.

Track inventory movement, yield, wastage, and spoilage.

Coordinate with kitchen and purchasing departments to evaluate portioning, recipes, and pricing.

Provide detailed cost reports, dashboards, and recommendations for cost control.

Assist in menu engineering by evaluating profitability of menu items.

Validate receiving, transfers, and stock adjustments to ensure accuracy of records.

Support the procurement process with data-driven insights on supplier pricing and trends.
Internal Audit Tasks:

Conduct periodic internal audits of inventory, cash handling, purchasing, and operational compliance.

Identify and report internal control weaknesses or non-compliance issues.

Review transaction documents, inventory records, and cost reports for accuracy and compliance.

Collaborate with departments to implement corrective actions and process improvements.

Assist in developing or updating internal control procedures and audit checklists.

Prepare and submit audit reports with findings, risks, and recommendations.

Monitor compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or related field.

With a minimum 3 years of experience in food cost control, auditing, or a similar role (preferably in F&B, hospitality, or retail industry).

Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory systems, and audit methodologies.

Proficiency in MS Excel; knowledge of POS systems and ERP software is an advantage.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with integrity.
