Hiring: Assistant Coffee Roaster
The Assistant Coffee Roaster role at Yardstick supports daily roasting operations by preparing and loading beans, maintaining roasting logs, and ensuring equipment cleanliness. The role also assists with inventory, quality assurance cuppings, and adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
Department: Production and Roastery
Work Location: San Juan
Responsibilities:
- Assist roasters in the daily roasting operations.
- Measure and load green coffee beans into the roasting machines.
- Maintain roasting logs and records accurately.
- Clean and maintain roasting equipment.
- Support inventory management of green and roasted coffee.
- Adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Assisting Daily Quality Assurance Cupping.
Ideal Candidates:
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for coffee.
- Ability to lift and move heavy bags of coffee beans (up to 30 kg).
- Basic understanding of roasting equipment and processes.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
